Intro:

ECHA adds five hazardous chemicals to the Candidate List

The Candidate List of substances of very high concern (SVHC) now contains 240 entries for chemicals that can harm people or the environment.

Reach:

• New substance evaluation conclusions published for CoRAP substance

   
  • p-(1,1-dimethylpropyl)phenol (EC 201-280-9, CAS 80-46-6) was added to the Community rolling action plan (CoRAP) list in 2014 and evaluated by Germany.
     
  • 4-tert-butylphenol (EC 202-679-0, CAS 98-54-4) was added to the CoRAP list in 2014 and evaluated by Germany.
     
  • Benzotriazole (EC 202-394-1, CAS 95-14-7) was added to the CoRAP list in 2016 and evaluated by Germany.

• European Commission decisions on applications for authorisation

  The Commission has granted three authorisations for two uses of 1,2-dichloroethane and one use of 4-Nonylphenol, branched and linear, ethoxylated.

  It has also corrected one decision granting authorisation for four uses of 4-(1,1,3,3-Tetra methylbutyl)phenol, ethoxylated.

CLP:

European Commission updates the list of harmonised classifications

The Commission has updated its list of harmonised classification and labelling with 28 new entries. In addition, 24 entries were revised. The new classifications will apply as of 1 September 2025.
