Chromium trioxide widely used in plating and surface treatment:

ECHA has received over 1 000 notifications from industrial sites using chromium trioxide in chrome plating and surface treatment in the EU. This follows two European Commission decisions in December 2020 granting authorisation to use the chemical until September 2024.

A new document is now available for 2,2'-[(1-methylethylidene)bis(4,1-phenyleneoxymethylene)]bisoxirane (EC 216-823-5, CAS 1675-54-3), added to the CoRAP list in 2015 and evaluated by Denmark.

CLP :

ECHA is looking for comments on the harmonised classification and labelling proposals for:

• (3E)-dec-3-en-2-one (EC -, CAS 18402-84-1).
• 2,3-epoxypropyl neodecanoate (EC 247-979-2, CAS 26761-45-5).

The deadline for comments is 6 August 2021.
